TIPS ON PREPARING YOUR QUILT TOP FOR LONGARM QUILTING

  • Your quilt backing should be a minimum of 8” (20 cm) bigger than the quilt top in length and width.  This is necessary to attach your quilt successfully to the quilting frame.

  • Please NO embellishments are to be sewn to the quilt prior to quilting

  • The quilt top and backing should be clipped free of loose threads on both the right and wrong sides

  • If your quilt top has a lot of seams on the outer edges please stay stitch 1/8 inch from the edge for stability.

  • Your quilt top should be pressed and ready for quilting with seams pressed to one side, not open.

  • If your backing fabric has a seam please sew ½ inch seams to allow for more durability and press seams open for less bulk.

  • When using a directional backing design please mark the top of the quilt with a safety pin.

  • If you would like CeeCee Quilting to prepare your quilt top for you then an additional charge of $50 will apply.
