TIPS ON PREPARING YOUR QUILT TOP FOR LONGARM QUILTING
Your quilt backing should be a minimum of 8” (20 cm) bigger than the quilt top in length and width. This is necessary to attach your quilt successfully to the quilting frame.
Please NO embellishments are to be sewn to the quilt prior to quilting
The quilt top and backing should be clipped free of loose threads on both the right and wrong sides
If your quilt top has a lot of seams on the outer edges please stay stitch 1/8 inch from the edge for stability.
Your quilt top should be pressed and ready for quilting with seams pressed to one side, not open.
If your backing fabric has a seam please sew ½ inch seams to allow for more durability and press seams open for less bulk.
When using a directional backing design please mark the top of the quilt with a safety pin.
